If you have unanswered questions, please feel free to contact me. You may also post a question on the First Generation Student discussion board.
I thought meeting with you (Dr. Duello) was super helpful! You understand what it feels like to be a first generation student, so you also know that there is often a gap between the information first-gen students and other students receive. Other resources I have spoken to often assume that I know certain things, but I didn’t have a parent who could teach everything there is to know about college, especially as a first-gen student pre-med student. . . . . and you also gave me a little more confidence! I would highly recommend that first-generation students meet with you. You understand what we’ve been through and you know how to help (and are very willing).
